LG unleashes first Snapdragon phone with a keyboard

With all the launch hype for the HTC Desire and Google Nexus one going on this 100330_4bb183cc6003a-540x324week, I am happy to see that the other manufacturers are not giving up the ghost and are starting to chase.

LG is looking to be the first company off the starting line with the first Keyboard slider built on top for the blisteringly fast Snapdragon processor( the same processor in the Nexus One and HTC Desire). In addition the phone appears to be sporting a digital TV tuner and support for HD video via its beautiful AMOLED screen which are both great features to add, providing that the battery life doesn’t disintegrate as a result.

The phone seems to be a good knock off of the features included in the Motorola Milestone, down to the 4 level keyboard and touch pad although bolstered with more juice in the engine. The phone seems to be sporting LGs customised UI on top of Android 2.1 so hopefully this means that other older LG devices will see the Android 2.1 come through fairly soon.

Overall a good device and a great addition to the line up, however hopefully it won’t arrive too late to the android party to have any impact- time will tell.

Thanks to Electricpig for the headsup
